Eyelids are one of the main points that influence our perception. It is the first area which is affected from aging. Bags on the upper and lower eyelids and wrinkled skin gives the patients a sleepy, tired and sad expression.

After the eyelid surgery more impressive eyes, a healthier look, more aesthetic eyelids and even a more youthful look can be achieved.

Eyelid (Blepharoplasty), Plastic Surgery Procedure

  1. Even I am arond my 30 ‘s I am looking much older my friends are asking didn’t you sleep enough yesterday because you look very tired could be sagging eyelids be the reason?
    Sagging eyelids and eye baggs can be a reason for that. That shows you more tired and older than you are in real. The solution will be an eyelid surgery.
  2. Is there any age limitation for eyelid surgery?
    Eyelid surgery is an operation that can be performed after the age of 20. However, our patients are usually over 30 years old.
  3. Will there be a scar after eyelid surgery?
    After the upper eyelid surgery a scar remains in the middle of the upper eyelid and takes the skin colour after 6 months. In the lower eyelid the scar would be just below the lashes and after 3-6 months they also take the skin tone.
  4. Will the Eyelid surgery be done under general anesthesia?
    Upper eyelid surgery alone will be done under local anesthesia. If the upper and lower eyelid surgery will be done together than I prefer general anesthesia.
  5. Will I have a shortage of vision after eyelid surgery? Can my eyes be damaged?
    This excess skin on the eyelids is removed in this operation. The excess fat of the eyelids are removed and the loose skin will be repaired. There may seem to be bagged oil may not be excess fat in some patients. This group of patients can collapse if the fatty tissue around the eye is removed. It would therefore be a more effective treatment displacing oil in these patients.
    Eyelid surgeries has nothing to do with eyes operations.
  6. Will the stitches taken out after the operation?
    Self-melting stitches are used. So there is no need to take the stitches out.
  7. How long will my eyes be closed after the surgery?
    After surgery, the eyes will not be closed, there will be a thin stitching tape.
  8. Will there be any swelling and bruising after the operation?
    There can be a little post-operative bruising and swelling for 4-5 days.
  9. Do I need to stay in hospital?
    If the operation was performed under general anesthesia the patient can be sent home after 6 hours. If the operation is done under local anesthesia the patient can leave after 1 hour.
